How to download.txt

One tap per song. No app, no account, no converter.

1. Find a song

Browse the Downloads window, open an album folder or a Smart Folder, or type in the search box.

2. Press ↓

The arrow at the end of every row downloads that MP3. On a phone, it lands in your Files or Downloads app.

3. Or tick several

Tick files, then press Download selected. They download one after another and show up in the Transfers window.

4. Credit when you share

Using it in a video or stream? Paste the credit line: Music by Purrple Cat (purrplecat.com), licensed under CC BY 4.0: creativecommons.org/licenses/by/4.0/

On an iPhone or iPad

Tap ↓, then the download arrow in Safari’s address bar. Files go to the Files app, in Downloads. Open one there to play it, or share it to your video editor.

On Android

Tap ↓. Chrome shows a “Downloaded” bar; the MP3 is in your Files app under Downloads, and most music players find it on their own.

On a Mac or Windows PC

Click ↓ and the MP3 lands in your Downloads folder. To get a whole album, open its folder, tick the box at the top of the list and click Download selected. If the browser asks whether this site may download multiple files, allow it.

Why not a song converter?

Sites that turn streaming videos into MP3s copy music the artist didn’t give away. Every file here was given away on purpose, under CC BY 4.0, so you keep it with a clear conscience. More on that.
